Hubbard Families,
I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations to the Kuna Food Bank! Thanks to your support, we were able to collect an impressive number of cereal boxes to help local families in need. Your kindness and commitment to helping others make a real difference, and we are so thankful for your continued support.
Family Literacy Night Reminder:
Don’t forget about our upcoming Family Literacy Night on March 5th from 4:30-6:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and families to engage in fun, interactive literacy activities, and strengthen our school community. Students will recieve a free book and snack! We hope to see everyone there as we celebrate the joy of reading together!
Read Across America Week (March 3-7):
We are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week from March 3-7! This is a special time to honor the importance of reading and encourage our students to dive into their favorite books. To make this week even more fun, we will have themed dress-up days! Here are the dress-up days for the week:
-
Monday, March 3: Green Eggs and Ham Day – Wear Green!
-
Tuesday, March 4: James and the Giant Peach Day – Wear Peach/Orange!
-
Wednesday, March 5: The Watermelon Seed Day – Wear Red!
-
Thursday, March 6: Chef Hat Day – Wear your chef hat!
-
Friday, March 7: Timberwolves Love Reading Day – Wear Timberwolf gear!
We will also hold a special reading challenge for students from March 3-14. Each day students will write down the total number of minutes they read or the number of minutes someone reads to them, in class reading minutes will also count. The goal is 50,000 minutes and if we meet our goal I have pledged that the winning class will get a root beer float party and be able to throw a pie in my face! There will also be prizes for the 2nd and 3rd class winners.
Thank you again for your incredible support, and we look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity during Read Across America Week. Let’s make it a week filled with reading, fun, and school spirit!
