Kindness - Accountability - Vibes - Effort

January 16, 2026

Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., there will be no school on Monday, January 19th. We hope this day provides a wonderful opportunity for our students and families to reflect on Dr. King's message of equality and kindness. We look forward to seeing everyone back in class on Tuesday!

Advisory Update

This week was a shortened week, so our time in Advisory was limited. On Wednesday, students completed the Math i-Ready Diagnostic, which provides valuable data to help teachers better understand student progress and plan instruction moving forward.

Students were also reminded to:
  • Write their Semester 2 schedules and place them in their binders
  • Submit schedule corrections if needed
  • Take note of important semester deadlines, including the last day for missing work

In addition, students participated in an MLK lesson, reflecting on themes of leadership, service, and responsibility within a community.

Looking Back on Semester One: Advisory Learning Timeline

Throughout Semester One, Advisory focused on helping students develop habits, skills, and awareness that support success both inside and outside the classroom. Below is a snapshot of what students explored and practiced over the course of the semester:

  • Understanding Advisory expectations and routines
  • Organization strategies (binders, schedules, goal tracking)
  • Developing responsibility for assignments and deadlines
Academic Skills & Growth
  • Goal setting and self-reflection
  • Interpreting academic data (i-Ready diagnostics, ISAT scores, progress checks)
  • Learning how effort, habits, and choices impact performance
Skills for Success
  • Identifying personal strengths and how they contribute to the school community
  • Problem-solving strategies and decision-making skills
  • Coping strategies for stress and managing challenges
Community & Character
  • Respectful communication and collaboration
  • Integrity, accountability, and making responsible choices
  • Lessons centered on empathy, leadership, and service (including MLK)

WIN

(What I Need)

WIN Time & iReady MyPath

Students have taken the second set of Reading and Math Diagnostic assessments for the year. This Wednesday, teachers will analyze the most recent data and determine new groups for students. for WIN time. All students will work on MyPath Math on Monday and Thursdays.
We are happy to announce that we will establish more enrichment groups for students who are advanced on their diagnostics and on track to score proficient or above on the ISAT this spring. These students in each grade level will be working on project based learning opportunities.
Research shows that students who spend 45 minutes on MyPath a week and who participate in iReady lessons grow more than typical on their ISAT scores each year.
Students can work on MyPath at home!!
