Dear Hubbard Families,
We have an exciting month ahead! February is packed with school spirit and opportunities to support our students. Here is everything you need to know to stay prepared and involved.
🎨 February Spirit Days
We want to see our hallways filled with color and creativity! We’re hosting several Dress-Up Days throughout the month to keep the winter blues away.
Please encourage your little ones to join the fun—it’s always a highlight for our K-3ers! You can find the full schedule of themes on our Family Calendar posted at the bottom of this message.
🍿 Popcorn Volunteers Needed!
On February 27, we will be popping fresh popcorn for the school!
-
The Cause: All proceeds will go directly to our Music Department!
-
We Need You: We are looking for volunteers to help us pop and bag popcorn during the school day.
If you have a few hours to spare and love the smell of movie-theater popcorn, please sign up here.
❄️ Cold Weather Guidelines
As the temperature fluctuates, we want to ensure our students stay warm and safe. Our district uses the "feels like" temperature (accounting for wind chill and humidity) to determine recess plans:
-
22°F and above: Students and monitors will head outside for regular recess.
-
18°F–22°F: Recess may be shortened. Teachers may choose to keep students in, OR a room will be opened for students who prefer to stay inside with a monitor while others play outdoors.
-
Below 18°F: * Before School: Students will be sent directly to the gyms and supervised until they are sent to class.
-
During the Day: Students and monitors will stay inside. Movies will be shown during lunch in designated movie rooms.
Reminder: Please ensure your child stays in your vehicle until 8:30 am each morning. Thank you!
Thank you for being such a supportive part of our school community. We can't wait to see those spirit outfits!
